And the most sincere congratulations to our guest of honor – Diana Bracco – for her great contribution and support to the extraordinary exhibition – From Filippo Lippi to Piero della Francesca: Fra Carnevale and the Making of a Renaissance Master – that was opened last night at The Metropolitan Museum of Art represented here today by Ms. Nina McN. Diefenbach.
I believe Diana Bracco is an extraordinary person not only for her love and support for the arts but also for her very successful career in the Bracco Group and for her active role in the business community.
Diana Bracco graduated in Chemistry at the University of Pavia.
Managing Director of Bracco SpA since 1977, Diana Bracco became President and CEO of the Company in 1999.
The Bracco Group is today a world leader in the diagnostic imaging field, and is active, both directly and through joint-ventures, in the world’s major markets.
The booklet you have illustrates the Bracco Group activities in the world with three research centers in Milan, Geneva and Princeton, N.J. and the partnerships of the Group with leading universities and research institutes both at home and abroad.
Alongside her professional responsibilities, Diana Bracco takes a leading role in associations in which her Company is involved: from May 2000 to June 2003 she held the position of Vice President of Confindustria,(Italy’s Association of Industrialists) in the field of “Innovation and Technological Development”.
Following her term as Vice President of Federchimica (Italy’s Association of Chemical Industries), in June 2003, she became President.
Past President of the Responsible Care Program, set up by Federchimica to promote the chemical industry’s active participation in the protection of the environment for sustainable growth, Diana Bracco is also in the Board of UniCredit and Deutsche Bank and of Techosp – She is president of Confarma, member of the Leonardo Committee and Counselor of the Fondazione Italia – Cina to mention only some of her engagements.
Over the years she has also shown strong commitment to supporting a variety of projects designed for the benefit of both the Company staff and the local community.
Mrs. Bracco is also highly active in the sector of non-profit associations. She is member of the Board of Corporate Social Responsibility – Europe and was, until recently, President of Sodalitas, (an association whose scope is the development of entrepreneurship in the social field). She is Vice President of both ASM, (the Association for the Study of Malformations), and of the Fondazione Mercuriale, as well as an active member of the Board of Friends of the Floriani Association, AGER – (Association for Geriatric Research and the Study of Longevity) and the Maria Chiantore Seragnoli Hospice Foundation. She is also member of the Guarantors’ Committee and the Scientific Committee of the Milan University
In 2001, she was awarded an Honorary Degree in Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Pavia, and in 2002 received the Medaglia d’Oro of the City of Milan and was appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro by the Italian President.
