Dr. A. Kenneth Ciongoli completed his neurology training at University of Vermont College of Medicine. He was the first resident in that program to be given the title of Chief Resident in Neurology in 1973.
He has post-graduate training in neuro-immunology in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was the first non-Danish citizen to receive a fellowship award from the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Society. From Denmark he returned to America to the University of Pennsylvania College of Medicine as Attending Neurologist and continued his research in neuro-immunology. In 1975, he returned to the University of Vermont as the Director of the University of the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic and Attending Neurologist at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont.
He has served as the Boxing Commissioner of the State of Vermont (appointed by the Governor) and he was appointed as Senior Medical Officer of the 1980 United States Olympic Team.
Dr. Ciongoli is Board Certified in Neurology. He is Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and tesches as Attening Neurologist on the in-patient service at The Medical Center Hospital of Vermont/Fletcher Allen Health Care. He has been selected Senior Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology.
Dr. Ciongoli has been listed in the Consumers Research Council’s “Guide To America’s Top Physicians” 2005. Dr. Ciongoli is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
He has been President of the National Italian American Foundation and is currently the Chairman and C.E.O. of the NIAF Board of Directors.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of John Cabot University in Rome. He has written 35 scientific articles as well as authored three books.
He is listed in “Who’s Who in America”, “Who’s Who in the World” and “Who’s Who in American Medicine and Healthcare”. He has been married for 37 years and is the father of five children.
